Linked Server OPENQUERY fails - SAVEPOINT Error

We're occasionally getting the following error on linked server open query statements:

ERROR: SAVEPOINT may only be used in transaction blocks

This error has occurred 4 times in the past month. Searching the postgres log history, I can't find a successful SAVEPOINT issued by the driver. Each occurrence was outside of a transaction.

Please advise.

Source database: Greenplum version 4.0.5 (PG version 8.2)

Have you tried to reproduce the issue with build 2254 or later?

In case you are still able to reproduce the issue with the latest build, would you send more details about your environment to "Support"?
